Westfield Continues to Grow and J.C. Hart Hopes to Be a Part of It

Westfield, IN is continuing to grow and J.C. Hart is looking to be a part of that growth. As outlined in an article in the IBJ, The Estridge Cos. of Carmel are planning a large mixed-use development of 1,500 acres that could include a J.C. Hart Apartment Community as a component. As more news develops we'll be sure to share it here on our blog.

Associate News

As our portfolio grows, so too does our list of new Associates! This week we welcomed two new Associates to the J.C. Hart team. Laura Riggen has joined the BayShore team as a Leasing Specialist. Laura earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Indiana State in 2007 and has lived in Wisconsin since she graduated, working in property management. She and her husband just moved back to Indiana and she is very excited about the opportunities at BayShore. Laura is a Colts fan and her family participates in the Race for the Cure every year so she is fitting right in! She is fired up with ideas of how to bring some new traffic to BayShore so we welcome her enthusiasm!

We are pleased to announce our new Manager to lead the lease up of The District at Saxony is Sherry Heck. She, too, has a degree in Public Relations from Ball State. Sherry has worked in property management for over seven years, but for the past several years she has worked in new homes sales for C.P. Morgan. Sherry has a close personal relationship with one of our long-term Associates (AJ!) so she has been well aware of our company culture and was thrilled to become a part of it. We are thrilled to have her on board to lead the Saxony team. (Rumor has it there is a video of Sherry portraying Cindy Brady floating around somewhere on the internet! Might be worth checking out!)

Joining Sherry at Saxony is Amanda Stevenson, Assistant Manager, previously at Pebble Brook Village. Sherry and Amanda are already underway, preparing to move into the leasing trailer and ready to start taking those prospective phone calls!

Along with these new Associates and Associates moves, we are very pleased to welcome back Meg Merriman. She is still working part-time, but on a much more regular basis! She has joined the team at Linden Square and has also helped out at BayShore while we were looking for Laura! We are so happy to have Meg back with us. And we are happy to announce that Stonebridge's groundman, Israel Rangel has become a full-time J.C. Hart Associate, as of June. Israel has been working hard and is a great addition to the strong Stonebridge maintenance team.

We welcome and congratulate all of these Associates and wish them the best of success in their new positions!

New Associates On Board!

J.C. Hart has welcomed four new Associates to the team in the month of May!

Jessica Reeves, NALP, is a new Assistant Manager at Stonebridge. Jessica just graduated from Ball State with a degree in Residental Property Management. She worked part-time as a leasing consultant for another property management company while she was in school. While going to school and working she also performed volunteer work in the community, most recently with Muncie Mission and St. Vincent DePauw.

Jocelyn Goodmon has joined the Bloomington team as a Leasing Specialist for The Crest and City Flats. Jocelyn was initially attracted to J.C. Hart because of the professionalism and care for fellow Associates exhibited when she was looking at The Crest for an apartment. She has just earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Indiana University and teaches private voice lessons, which she loves.

Brandon Brown is our new Maintenance Technician at BayShore! Brandon originally hails from Montana where he went to high school, but he has worked in property management maintenance in Indiana for the last several years. He was referred to J.C. Hart by Danny Lewis. One of the funniest things that has ever happened to him on the job was while he was working on a roof and a thirty pound racoon jumped out when they pulled up one of the boards! Scared him and his co-worked half to death! Hopefully he won't have any run-ins with racoons at BayShore!

Amanda Mance has joined the Pebble Brook Village team as a Leasing Specialist. She just graduated from I.U. with a degree in Criminal Justice! She has worked as an Intern in Washington D.C. for Congressman Timothy Johnson, and also for the McLean County State's Attorney's Office in Bloomington, Illinois. She enjoys working on a team, hands-on, and working with customers face-to-face, so she should find the environment of J.C. Hart a great place to be!

J.C. Hart Listed as Top 50 Multifamily Builder

J.C. Hart is honored to be listed on the year's Top 50 Builders in Builder Magazine. This is our first time making this list and we are very excited about the activity we have going on and in our pipeline.

J.C. Hart Improves Its Best Places to Work Ranking

J.C. Hart learned last Thursday night that we placed 13th (out of 28 qualifying companies) in the small/medium sized company category in the Best Places to Work in Indiana 2010. This was the second year that J.C. Hart has participated in the Indiana Chamber of Commerce's Best Places to Work survey and we are excited about our improved ranking! The awards were presented in a ceremony at the Indiana Roof Ballroom. Sheila Wolter, Director of Human Resources, accepted our award from Indiana Chamber President Kevin Brinegar on behalf of all our Associates. We thank all of our associates for helping make J.C. Hart Company a Best Place to Work.

Legacy Towns & Flats Now Open and Leasing

Apartments are now available for move-in a Legacy Towns & Flats and the team will be moving into the permanent leasing office and recreation center on April 12th. Come out for a visit.
